Lt. Col Prince Johnson Named New AFL Deputy Chief of Staff

The Commander-In-Chief (C-I-C) of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, over the weekend named a new Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS), thus filling the gap created in the army due to the recent passing of the then DCOS Colonel Eric Dennis.

President Sirleaf named Lt. Colonel Prince Charles Johnson III as DOS, and promoted to Brigadier General, while Lt. Colonel Davidson Forley was named AFL Training Commandant, and promoted to full Colonel.

In her 2014 Annual Address to the Legislature, C-I-C Sirleaf commissioned Col. Johnson as Commander of the 23rd Infantry Brigade with headquarters at the Edward Beyan Kesselly Barracks near Camp Schiefflin, along the ELWA/Robertsfied highway.

During that address, President Sirleaf also named Colonel Daniel Dee Ziankahn Jr. (now Brig/Gen) as the ALF Chief of Staff (COS), Colonel Eric Wamu Dennis (now deceased) was nominated AFL Deputy COS, and Prince Charles Johnson III as Brigade Commander, making him a Lieutenant.
