Pres. Sirleaf Congratulates Spain On National Day

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations to the Government and People of the Kingdom of Spain on the joyous occasion commemorating the National Day of that European State.

In her Message to His Majesty, King Palacio De La Zarzuela, the Liberian President on behalf of the Liberian Government and People of Liberia conveyed heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to members of the Royal Family, the Government and People of Spain. 

"I’m personally pleased with the warm and friendly relations our two countries continue to enjoy over the years and our increased desire to enhance our bilateral cooperation in mutually benefitting areas", President Sirleaf noted in her message to her Spanish counterpart.

Referred to as La Fiesta National De Espana, the Kingdom of Spain observes its National Day annually on October 12 which is also commemorated as the anniversary of Christopher Columbus's first arrival in the Americas.

President Sirleaf expressed the hope that as Spain celebrates this historic day, the relations between her country and that country will become even closer while they both collaboratively endeavor for the attainment of global peace and prosperity.
