Inter Religious Council refutes being opposition

The secretary general of the Inter Religious Council of Liberia (IRCL), Musa Bama has refuted statement by some members of the George Manneh Weah government that his entity is  an opposition to the government.

Speaking to Liberia Public Radio at his office in Monrovia Tuesday April 23, Mr. Bama said the council mean goal is to foster peace and harmony in the country contrary to perception by some officials of the Weah led administration aligning as opposition. He the commended some recent interventions made  by president Weah administration in the past to curtail tension in the country but said the council will continue to correct wrongs in the country.

Mr. Bama however stated, IRCL is not a group to muscle government in the country but it is aimed at intervening in peaceful co-existence in Liberia. He added that the team always speaks about peace and awareness among Muslims and Christians for unity and peace.

The Inter Religious Council of Liberia (IRCL) was founded in June 1995 to bring about peaceful co-existence in Liberia and the West Africa.

IRCL envisages in the pursuit of its objectives and accomplishing its mission, a tolerant Liberian society peacefully coexisting where our differences are being used for the best interest of humanity.

 Usage that will serve our common interests, promote peace, security and human right; eradicate or dissuade the use of religion for the wrong reasons

It mission is to  strengthen the Religious collaboration and cooperation advocate for the well-being of all as well as to plan together on addressing issues of both national and religious concerns.
