Ahead of the much publicized mass June 7 protest in Liberia, popular Liberian talk show host Henry Costa has arrived and being welcomed by huge crowd in Monrovia.
According to Liberia Public Radio Correspondent in Monrovia, Mr. Costa arrived late Thursday morning at the Roberts International Airport while being welcomed by thousands of supporters drawn from Montserrado county and other parts of Liberia.
At the airport, our correspondent quoted some supporters of Henry Costa as saying ‘we are here to welcome Costa’ to Liberia.
“We will join Costa on June 7 for the protest, so we’re here to support him”, Korpu Sumo, a resident of Matadi told LPR at the RIA.
The popular talk show host is one of the planners of the June 7 protest which the organizers say will be a ‘peaceful protest’.
On Tuesday May 14, 2019 the Council of Patriots the name under which the protest is being organized failed to submit their plights in a meeting with President George Weah.
Deadlock meeting
They told President Weah that their plight will be presented to on June 7 during the planned mass protest co-named “Save the State” instead of compromise.
The meeting which was attended by several stakeholders including the representative of the United Nations and African Union as well as traditional leaders of Liberia was aimed at resolving on the June 7 protest planners to cancel their plan.
