Despite warning from group of citizens declaring Grand Bassa no-go-zone for Representative Yekeh Kolubah, the Montserrado lawmaker over weekend on Saturday May 18, 2019 stormed the port city of Buchanan.
Representative Yekeh Kolubah during the weekend stormed the port city of Buchanan in an apparent defiant to an order issued by some citizens warning him to stay out of Grand Bassa County.
Some Bassa citizens last week petitioned the House of Representatives to probe comment by Representative Kolubah referring to the People of Bassa as ‘Chicken’ after his first visitation to the county, while warning him not to visit the county.
In a huge turnout in the Port City of Buchanan, Representative Kolubah was seen heavily escorted by some citizens of the county who are in support of the planned June 7 protest.
Speaking to Bassa Citizens in Buchanan, Representative Kolubah in a defiant tune said he does not regret his comment referring to some citizens who attacked him on his first visitation to the county as chickens.
“I came from Buchanan last night; the program was very good and well attended” Representative Yekeh Kolubah told Liberia Public Radio correspondent on Sunday may 19.
Representative Yekeh Kolubah has been one of the fierce critics of the current administration headed by soccer legend Ambassador George Manneh Weah. He has criticized the Weah administration for violating several constitutional provisions including the appointment of ambassador to the United States without prior confirmation by the Liberian senate.
What is Chicken?
According to American dictionary, chickens are young domestic fowls whose meats are eaten as food. Chicken sometimes referred to as a coward or young inexperienced person.
Yekeh and others have however called on the citizens to join the June 7 protest demanding change from the CDC-led government of President George Weah.
