YARMUSA Honors stakeholders in Nimba District #9

As it is always said “give a man his flower while he is still alive”.

This saying was actualized when students under the banner  Yarwin Mehnsonnoh University Student Association (YARMUSA)  on May 18, 2019, bestowed honor and certificated several stakeholders hailing from District #9 Nimba County for their immense contributions towards education.

Addressing several eminent district citizens from Yarwin Mehnsonnoh, YARMUSA President Ferrison Andrews said over the years students from the district have benefited from assistance from elders of Yarwin in many ways ranging from financial aid and scholarship program. According to Mr. Andrews, he and his colleagues  remain appreciative for the level of support elders of Nimba District#9 continue to give them and assured that their support will go a long way.

“Thank you for the support given to us over the time. We’re here to appreciate you for the support”, Ferrison said.

The YARMUSA president further noted; with the level of support from stakeholders from Yarwin Mehnsonnoh District, the organization is now having positive impacts not only on students in Montserrado but in the district as a whole. He disclosed that YARMUSA in recent time embarked on tutorial classes for students from the district who participated in the just ended West Africa Senior School Certificate Exams (WASSCE).

“We want to say your support towards education is now having impacts back home.” We’re not telling you to stop here, continue to educate students from Yarwin Mehnsonnoh District”, he stated.

The appreciation and fundraising program for YARMUSA was also graced by several eminent sons and daughters of District #9 Nimba County.

Serving as keynote speaker at the program, Dr. Yarsuo Weh-Dorlaie admonished students from the district to remain studious if they are to achieve their academic sojourn. Dr. Weh-Dorlaie, who hailed from Mehnla Town in Yarwin Mehnsonnoh, told students from the district to pay attention to the dictates of their study.

“Keep your own education to your fingers tip. Let your struggles mean something to you” pay attention to the dictates of your study”, said Dr. Weh-Dorlaie.

Lawmaker’s Continue education support

In his remark, Nimba County District#9 Representative Johnson N. Gwaikolo pledged his continuous support towards students’ activities in the district. Rep. Gwaikolo asserted that his paramount concern is that every aspect of the District #9 Nimba is developed including the education of young hailing from the district.

 “I will continue to contribute to education in the district always. Let’s all contribute towards the development of the district”.

Dr. Gwaikolo also announced that plans are underway to ensure that Nimba County Community College (NCCC) is elevated to a four year degree granting university to enable many young people desirous of going to college to do so.

“We’re working to give Nimba County College a full degree granting university,” he intoned.

Those honored includes Mr. S. Peter Doekpah, Dr. Yarsuo Weh-Dorlaie, Rep. Johnson N. Gwaikolo, Cllr. Tiawon S. Gongloe and Mr. Reginald Mehnpaih.

Others are Associate Professor Randall Glee, Madam Edith Gongloe-Weh, Mr. David Dahn, Sr. and Jr., Necus M. Andrews amongst others. The District#9 citizens were honored by Yarmusa for their various contributions towards the student organization.
