Nimba County District #8 representative has Larry P. Younquoi has sharply reacted to allegation leveled against him by Senator Prince Yormie Johnson linking him with terroristic behavior.
Speaking to reporter recently, Younquoi said that he is taking aback by statement made by senator Johnson.
Nimba County senator Prince Johnson recently alleged that Representatives Larry P. younquoi and Samuel G. Kogar of Districts 5 & 8 respectively were involved in the recruitment of ex fighters from Nimba to Monrovia to on the stand by for the just ended publicized June 7 peaceful assembly.
But Senator Johnson said he was responding to report published by allafrica.com that some lawmakers from Nimba recruited ex- fighters to Monrovia to be on the standby and were living in Paynesville outside of Monrovia with the support of the two lawmakers.
Our reporter quoted Senator Johnson as claiming that his assertion was based on the fact that the two representatives were in support of the June 7, protest.
Commenting on the statement, representative Younquoi called on the Chief and elder council of Nimba, the student community, religious community to prevail on the senator the retract his statement.
“I still respect the recent peaceful settlement between the senator and myself and still living by my commitment”, he adds.
Few months ago, the Chief and elder council of Nimba, Women of peace of Nimba settled disputes between Representative Larry Younquoi and Senator Prince Johnson of where both promised not to take the airwaves with each other, but rather Chanel their grievances through elders and chief of the county.
The district #8 policymaker claimed that the allegation from Senator Johnson is ‘life threatening’ which should be taken seriously by the elders.
Younquoi maintained that senator Johnson is the one who is associated with wars and his name is addicted with “recruitment” and not he [Younquoi].
