As it is often said “Agriculture is the bed rock of any nation and is the best bank anyone can invest in”, young agriculturist in Nimba County is calling on Liberians to focus on agricultural activities if the country economic is to grow.
Speaking to reporters at his farm behind Gar Zuluyee Town along the Ganta Sanniquellie high way, Joe Sehneah explained that politics will not help develop this adding that many politicians have failed the country and wants young people focus on agricultural development.
Sehneah farm is registered with the Liberian government as the Joe Agriculture center (JAC) and is currently engaged in the production and sale of Liberian Tomatoes on the local market.
The young agriculturist who is also graduate of the Broker Washington Institute (BWI) in kakata Margibi County said he will continue to invest his meager resources into the soil because he believes government alone cannot do it all.
Sehneah has a great experience in crop production in the agriculture sector in Liberia.
Last year, JAC grew and harvested a modern corn on a large scale and to continue his profession, he is currently engaged in the sales of fresh tomatoes.
“Our flesh Liberia tomato is ready for market. We can supply super markets, restaurants and hotels around town in retail and wholesale base on request. We can deliver base on your order at your doorsteps”, he told Liberia Public Radio in an interview. Excluding vegetables, JAC does agricultural consultancy for individuals for the planing of oil palm, plantain socket, Coco among others.
Meanwhile the young Liberian entrepreneur is admonishing Liberians to pay keen attention on agriculture, adding it is the only way the country can be food self sufficient.
In recent years, many Liberian youths have taken strong interest in politics as the surest way to get job employment.
