Dillon takes early lead in Montserrdo senatorial bye-election

Preliminary results coming in from the Montserrado senatorial   bye election has put opposition candidate Abraham Darius Dillon of the Liberty Party  in an early  in the lead. 

The Montserrado County bye-election was created as a result of the death of former senator Geroline Doe Shireff .

Dillon, the vice chair for legal affairs of the opposition Liberty Party was the choice of the four collaborating parties for the senatorial seat in Montserrado County has dominated most polling places in Montserrado county so far since the preliminary results started coming.

There was a reported low turnout from the morning hours due to a heavy downpour of rain. 

Meanwhile, official counting of  results has commenced  by the National Elections Commission in Monrovia.

Dillon win?

Mohammed Ali, spokesman of the Unity Party told OK FM Tuesday afternoon that from their own tallying  all is now set for Mr. Abraham Dillon to go to the senate. According to him they have tallied almost 95% of the total polling places with Dillon winning Districts 6, 16, 7 and 10.

Provisional results from the elections according to NEC chairman Cllr. Jerome Kokoya will begin on Wednesday July 31 at the commission’s headquarters.
