Dillon and Abu Kamara set for victory in Montserrado bye-elections

The National election commission has released the provisional results of the Montserrado County bye election. 

Making the announcement late Wednesday evening at their 9th street head office in the James Flomonyan conference hall, NEC chairman Jerome Korkoyah revealed that out of 1,690 polling stations across Montserrado County, about 924 have been tallied placing Liberty Party candidate Abraham Darius Dillon in the lead with 53,270 representing 53.88 percent.

Coalition for Democratic Change’s candidate Puliata C Wie has 36,531 representing 36.95% making it 51.62% of the tallied vote. 

For the Montserrado District 15, CDC candidate Abu Kamara has 5,515 vote representing 45.9%, while Telia Urey the daughter of businessman turned politician Beninor Urey has 4,540 vote representing 37.89%. NEC chairman Korkoyah asserted that out of 94 polling places in District 15, 65 has been talled representing 69.15%.

Chairman Korkoyah maintained that NEC has received 5 complaints from the just ended Montserrado County senatorial and representative Elections. 

He said that out of the five complains, 2 were filed by from District 15 of which one was field by ALP candidate Telia Urey while the remaining 3 was field in the senatorial election. 

Korkoyah asserted that NEC is going through those complains as results from these areas have been guaranteed.
