The Episcopal Church of Liberia Relief and Development has ended a one day Gender Based-Violence County level biannual review meeting with stakeholders in River Cess County.
The review call for more efforts to minimize the gender based violence situation in the County.
The gathering which took place at the edifice of the Z.B Washington UMC in Cestos brought together 42 participants drawn from the various Districts of the county as well as heads and representatives of various relevant institutions within the County.
Giving the overview of the meeting, ECLRD focus person in River Cess County, Pastor Solomon Morris said the meeting was designed to afford the stakeholders the opportunity to review the activities of the entity over the past time.
According to Pastor Morris, his organization has done much in the fight against the barbaric act but require the community to critique the work of the institution.
He named the support of safe home for short stay of SGBV victims, the training of youth groups and Faith leaders, the popularization of the Code of conduct in various Schools, Agricultural program and Village Saving among other things as some key activities of the entity over the years.
Meanwhile participants of the one day event have commended the Episcopal Church of Liberia for the opportunity and called for the extension of the program in the County with more consolidated efforts by all aimed at curbing SGBV.
