Gbarnga, Bong County-The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Bong county Detachment has arrested two person in connection with drug trafficking.
The two alleged traffickers are resident of Gbarnga Bong County in central Liberia.
According to report, the two alleged drug dealers were arrested early Wednesday morning by officers of LDEA in Gbarnga.
The newly assigned LDEA commander Uriah Geelar and his intelligent officer Detrick Woeleh stated that the alleged drug traffickers were seized in the civil compound community during the officers regular operations.
The suspects are currently behind bars awaiting court trial.
Uriah and Detrick maintained that the guys were captured with 63 parcels of heroin and marijuana at their official residence. They put the street value of the narcotic substance at several thousand Liberian dollars.
The Liberia drug enforcement agency bong county detachment executive further narrated that the alleged drug marketers assaulted the LDEA Intelligent officer Detrick Woeleh while resisting arrest.
Bong County hotspot for narcotics
Bong County remains of the hotspots for narcotics especially marijuana that is well grown in that part of the country.
In April 2019 officers of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) seized narcotics worth LRD$12 million from two Nigerian nationals in Gbarnga.
Henry Cheigwu and Christian Onhuwu, who were arrested, are suspected of supplying drugs to citizens in Gbarnga, Alex Tweh, commander of the LDEA in Bong County said.
The substance include 50.9 grams of valued and 116.7 of heroine.
