Jestina Taylor Ghartey, the 48 year woman who recently accused some officials of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) of murder during Liberian civil war has been relocated to unknown destination, a source has hinted.
She is wanted for questioning by the Liberia National police for allegation.
According to a source close to security sources Jestina was taken from the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital to an un-disclosed location after the police was tip that some Liberians were planning to protest her freedom.
Jestina on Wednesday informed the local media that she was scheduled to attend an interview with the U.S. Embassy near Monrovia but didn’t show up because police officers had reportedly barricaded St. Joseph Catholic Hospital where she’s seeking medication.
The act was carried out by unknown people in August this year.
Her helpless body was found along the Robertsfield Highway and taken to hospital.
Family source told our reporter that Jestina condition has not improved since she was abducted, drugged and raping, hours after she appeared in a LIVE Facebook video, accusing the mayor of Monrovia Jefferson Koijee and others of murder.
The family source added that she was expected to get her visa for travel to the United States of America for advanced medication.
“Free Jestina now”
Hundreds of Liberians, predominantly young people on Thursday October 3, 2019 gathered at the main entrance of Catholic run St. Joseph Hospital in Monrovia, demanding the freedom of Jestina Taylor Ghartey.
Police were said to be deployed at the hospital to prevent Jestina from leaving, as she was wanted to answer some questions on her allegations.
The young people have gathered to pressure the government to relax any plan to have woman arrested.
The crowd was heard outside of the compound of the hospital chanting slogan, “free Jestina now”
Riot police officers were deployed for several hours at the hospital facility to prevent the protesters entry into the compound.
Accusing fingers have been pointing to some officials of the CDC led government of being behind the woman’s abduction and rapping.
