The 5th Commencement convocation speaker of the Nimba County Community college has challenged graduates to struggle to achieve their ambitions in life.
Marcus S. Wleh Head of Government Relations for Arcelor Mittal serving as the 5th convocation ceremony Speaker of the Nimba County Community college on Saturday December 21, in Sanniquellie, called on the graduates to always strive in life to make their story different if they want to succeed in life.
Speaking on the Topic “If your story is not different, you will struggle to achieve your ambitions, admonished the graduates to always seek for greater opportunity and aim higher in life than being complacent with little things.
Wleh asked the graduates to always think outside the box and be innovative in finding new ways to do thing than to be a part of those always looking up to their country to do things for them.
He challenged the graduates to be positive Liberians by thinking of what they can do for their country, than what their country can do for them, adding that a positive Liberian will always ask what they can do for their community today, how they could use their knowledge to improve their community and country.
How they can find an opportunity to turn ideas into something beneficial for their country.
The AML Head of Government Relations outlined that in order to achieve your ambitions, you do so by not just enrolling in college to earn a degree, but aim to get the highest honors in your class, in your department and in your college.
He explained that such person never stop learning, but go beyond the class lectures by seeking additional research materials.
“He/she should persevere and never take no for an answer; never stop learning; never quitting”, he adds.
He mentioned that such people prioritize their work and their targets focussing on the most important things than wasting time on idle talk and ideas that weigh them down.
“You are willing and ready to experiment with any work that adds to your experience capital to get you on the path to success” he further stated.
The Nimba County Community college was established in 2010 duringbthe administration of former president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf through an act by the national legislature and a permit from the Commission on Higher Education in Liberia as a means of decentralizing education to Liberian who may not have the opportunity to travel to urban Liberia for higher education.
The 5th graduating class put out 118 students including 51 females and 67 males with Associate of Arts degrees from various disciplines.
