Ahead of the much anticipated 2020 senatorial elections, Bong county district #3 Representative Josiah Melvin Cole says Liberia’s deputy House speaker Prince Moye is “not a senatorial material”.
Rep. moye who is serving his second term mandate at the House of Representatives, is at the verge of completing a countywide consultation aimed at opposing incumbent senator Henry Yallah in 2020 elections.
According to the coalition for Democratic change (CDC) lawmaker, Rep. Moye election at the upper house will be “dangerous and detrimental” in Bong County.
Representative Cole branded Moye as ambitious politician who is not sensitive to the country current economic crisis adding that any attempt by Bongese to elect Representative Prince Moye as senator will become another huge burden on the CDC government to conduct by elections.
The Liberia deputy speaker Prince Moye is on record of vigorously campaigning against rep. Cole in 2018 in order to avoid by-elections.
He said if unity party up representative is elected as senator in 2020 the Government of Liberia will be constrained to spend over two million United States dollars to conduct elections for a representative seat and deputy speakership.
Political tension has been feuding as to who become senator of Bong County in October 2020 as many current and former lawmakers continue to declare their intention to contest.
