Residents of Chugbor, Gaye Town, and the Sophia Communities located in District#10 Montserrado county have all reasons to smile as two modern footpath bridges valued several thousand United States dollars are set to be dedicated.
According to District10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah, the construction of the two bridges come after several appeals by residents of the three communities who complained of difficulties in commuting from one area to another.
Rep. Kolubah said although for the past two years there has been no money allocated for District development but he saw it fit to alleviate the difficulties his people are facing to travel from one community to another especially during the rainy season.
Speaking Saturday March 21, 2020 when he inspected the two projects, Rep. Kolubah disclosed that the two bridges will shortly be dedicated, although his main focus now is on the fight against the COVID-19.
“Even though they say we have Coronavirus here and we are following the rules and doing some development”, said Rep. Kolubah.
“This money for the construction these bridges is from my salaries, we all are aware that no money for district development since Ellen time”, he further stressed.
Representative Yekeh Kolubah started his developmental initiatives since 2008 across district #10, which subsequently led to his overwhelmingly election as Representative of District Number 10. in the 2017 Representatives and Presidential Elections in his capacity as independent candidate, defeating incumbent Julius F. Berrian with more than 9000 Votes margin follows by current National Chairman Mulbah K. Morlu, Jr. who finished 3rd with 3, 800 Votes.
Since his ascendency as Representative of Montserrado County District Number 10 in the 2017 Elections, Hon. Kolubah is one of the critical and respectable voices in the National Legislature.
Rep. Yekeh Kolubah clarifies statement on COVID-19
Meanwhile, Rep. Yekeh Kolubah has clarified that he was misquoted by officials of the Executive branch of Government that he was misleading the public about preventive measures of the Convid-19 Virus in Liberia.
According to the District Number # 10 Lawmaker, he was only trying to inform the Liberian people that hand washing is not the only preventive measures to prevent getting the Convid-19 Virus.
When asked whether he was angry with the response from information minister Eugene Nagbe about his statement, Rep. Kolubah responded that he will not say anything to the statement of mr. Nagbe because his main focus is on how to eradicate the disease from Liberia.
The Montserrado County Lawmaker, however donated 287 pieces of buckets, chlorine and tap soaps for hands washing to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in Liberia to the District Number 10 Development Council for upwards distribution.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the District Number 10 Development Council,the Chairman of the Council Hon. Alieu Victor Sannor lauded Representative Yekeh Kolubah for the gestures, and promised to reach out to the length and breadth of District Number 10 with his benevolence to his citizens that voted him to represent them at the 54th National Legislature with the biggest mandate ever in the history of District Number 10.
