The Environmental Media Organization, Journalists for the Protection of Nature (JPN-Liberia) has commended Health authorities in Liberia for their effort in containing the infection rate of the Coronavirus at three(3) since the first case of the virus was confirmed on March 16, 2020.
JPN-Liberia in a release today stated the fact that there is no other confirm case of the virus since the three persons were diagnosed positive, suggests that Liberia’s Health authorities are making significant strive to keep the Country save.
JPN-Liberia encouraged government through the Health Ministry to remain vigilant and cautious in implementing safety measures that would stop the further spread of the Convid19, in the interest of the Country and its people.
The Environmental Media Group noted that the Coronavirus is fast spreading in other Countries in Africa compare to Liberia which can be credited to the coordination and plan put into place by Health authorities.
JPN-Liberia is urging the Ministry of Health, National Public Health Institute and Partners to remain focus to ensure that Liberia doesn’t record any more confirm case of the Convid19.
JPN-Liberia is also calling on the incident Management System constituted to coordinate and halt the spread of the virus to make sure that those suspected of coming in contact with infected persons undergo testing to avoid more infection.
JPN-Liberia said it worry over the way some members of the public are handling information regarding the coronavirus and encouraged all Liberians to not to follow fake news intended to undermine the fight by Health authorities.
JPN-Liberia is reminding Liberians to reflect on the Ebola outbreak that killed more than 4,000 people and devastated the Country’s economy, to take corrective measures to avert similar situation.
Meanwhile, the Environmental Media group is encouraging the incident Management System to work with the Media, Environmental and Health media related organizations to help build increase awareness and education to stop the potential spread of the virus in Montserrado and Margibi Counties as was done in the case of the Ebola pandemic.
