A resident of Old Matadi Estate, Roland Warner, was reportedly attacked and severely wounded in the earlier morning hour of Monday, March 16, by three unknown men.
The three men believed to be gangsters have gone to visit one of their colleagues only identified as Darius, in the Old Matadi Community where they allegedly brutalized Roland.
The Chairman of the community, William Lafalay, said the three men entered the community and become to indiscriminately knock at the doors of Roland’s next door neighbor triggering his concern to find out about what was going on.
The perpetrators who are said to be on the run for fear of police investigation did not give reasons for their action against the victim.
However, the community chairman explains that Roland was allegedly flogged unconscious by the three unknown men after he had gone to inquire an incident of unusual unpleasant and disturbing noise at his neighbor house.
Mr. Lafalay said Roland’s intervention was as a result of an outcry from the women whose door was being attacked by the unknown me. “They have not been seeing in the community before so their engagement at the woman’s Residence was unusual and rises concerns.”
Roland is currently undergoing treatment at the JFK medical hospital at the expense of his family due to whereabouts of the perpetrators.
The three men are said to be on the run as police at the Salem Depot in Sinkor has launched a search for them.
But, reports have indicated that the Police have arrested the rang leader, Fallah Nyumah, and forwarded to court for prosecution but his lawyer has since filed an insurance bond pending hearing into the case.
The Police have at the same time launched an appealed to residents of the Community to help provide any information that would lead to the arrest of the other two persons. Fallah Nyumah is age 28.
A shift commander at the Salem Depot in Sinkor, Adam Polima, assured that the police will work with residents of the community to arrest the remaining two men in question while the victim continues to seek medication at the JFK Hospital.
Family sources said medical report in their possession from the JFK Medical Hospital indicates that Roland dislocated one of his arms and sustained multiples wounds on his skull as a result of the attack.
