Liberia COVID-19 cases climb to 14

At least one additional case of the deadly Coronavirus has been confirmed by health authorities in Liberia bringing the total to 14 cases so far in the country.

During its regular tri-weekly update on COVID-19  on Monday, April 6, 2020, Health officials announced a new confirmed coronavirus  patient in the Country.

The detail surrounding the the new confirmed case is yet to be release to the media up to Monday evening.

Health Minister Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah told a news conference that  the new confirmed case is as a result of several testing conducted by health workers.

On Sunday the country announced at least two new deaths from the virus bringing the death toll to 3 persons.

The latest figure means there are eight active cases in Liberia. The first three confirmed cases were discharged over the weekend after they were tested negative twice.

Epidemiologists    suggest the number of Covid-19 cases in the country could more than double if more testing were done.

tiredness

difficulty breathing (severe cases)

People may be sick with the virus for 1 to 14 days before developing symptoms. The most common symptoms of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Most people (about 80%) recover from the disease without needing special treatment.

More rarely, the disease can be serious and even fatal. Older people, and people with other medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease), may be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill.
