Girl Power officials distribute assorted items in Gboa Gehwee

A Non-Governmental Organization known as ‘Girl Power Africa’ on Thursday April 9, 2020 distributed assorted materials to over 150 families in various towns in District # 2 in Nimba County.

The Materials distribution to families was under Girl Power Africa’s  Coronavirus package initiative as these towns and communities are combating the deadly Novel Coronavirus disease during this critical time in the history of the country.

Speaking to the beneficiaries during the donation in Gboa Gehwee, Vehipa, and Sanniquellie, one of the founders of the organization Dr. Fredrick Norkeh, cautioned the women to stay safe, as there was no need to panic once they follow the protocol instituted by the Ministry of Health and the National Public Health Institute of Liberia were being followed.

Girl Power Africa Management also called on a women organizations and  Empowerment to program abide by all preventive measures recommended by health authorities in the country against the coronavirus.

The former Minister of Post and Telecommunication who termed the gesture as little, further asserted that the donation was Girl Power Africa quick impact initiative adding that it was important to reach out to families who are in need as a way of identifying with them and addressing their needs as the country goes through this troubling time.

Dr. Norkeh also acknowledged the recipients s to constantly wash their hands with soap and clean water, avoid hand shaking, coming in contact with sick person, covering their mouth with bend air bow when coughing, sneezing as well as  avoiding  crowded places.

For their parts, the beneficiaries lauded the Management of Girl Power Africa for thinking about them and reaching to them during this critical period.

They used the occasion and called on other Humanitarian organizations, political leaders, well-meaning citizens to follow the good footsteps of Girl Power Africa.

Items distributed by the organization  include Washing Soap, tie – soap, chloride, rice among others.
