After observing his 14 days’ quarantine period upon his arrival in country from Ghana that cause panic among citizens in district # 5, Representative Samuel G. Korgar has donated food, non-food and anti – coronavirus materials to his people in that part of Nimba County.
peaking to reporters in Butuo Town during the distribution exercises, Representative Korgar disclosed that it was his own way for helping his citizens to combat the deadly virus that has engulf the globe.
The Nimba District #5 policymaker called on his citizens not to doubt the existence of the virus in Liberia, adding that they should follow all preventive messages given by the Ministry of Health and the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL).
Representative Korgar cautioned his citizens to be very careful and avoid hugging, shaking hands, as they are closely located along the border with Ivory Coast that has reported over 200 cases of confirmed COVID-19.
Butuo is one of the legally recognize entry points of Liberia, and is the area used in 1990 to start the civil war in Liberia by former Rebel leader now Senator and Clergy Man Prince Yormie Johnson.
It can be recalled that citizens of District # 5 including their statutory superintendent phone in on several local Radio Stations in Nimba complaining about what they claimed was the illegal entry of their lawmaker when he returned from Ghana through Ivory Coast.
Items donated by the Lawmaker include 200 facets buckets, awareness T shits, cartoon of chlorides, chlorines, bags of rice and five mattresses to each clinic in his district.
Receiving the items on behalf of their respective Towns and Clans, the General Towns chiefs expressed gratitude to their lawmaker for reaching out to them in such a difficult time in the country.
For their parts, the OICs acknowledge the effort of Representative Korgar, adding that his donation was timely especially when they as health care provider are gearing up to combat an unseen enemy.
