As the novel coronavirus rages on, over three hundred residents of the chief compound community in Gbarnga city have been made homeless as a result of a violent storm.

The incident happened at about 5:30 Wednesday evening. According to victims of the storm disaster, a woman has been hospitalized after sustaining serious injuries. Victims of the disaster are now squatting with nearby community members in the city.
The victims, including Bong County land Commissioner, Charles Fanoh King, told LPR correspondent in Gbarnga that the situation has left many homeless and in need of humanitarian assistance.
They are therefore calling on the District, s Lawmaker , Josiah Marvin Cole to quickly intervene. Some said if there is no remedy to the situation, they would revert to sleeping on their farms.

Majority members of the chief compound community earn their living through farming activities. They also used the occasion to call on Philanthropists and other well meaning citizens of the county to come to their aid.

It can be recalled that recently a violent storm left several properties across cities in Liberia including Gbarnga damaged.

The government of Liberia has meanwhile empathized with storm victims and promised to provide some assistance soon.
