A daughter of Nimba residing in Australia has donated assorted food items to two institutions in Sanniquellie City Nimba County.
The donation wish was done in two faces was Mrs. Sharon Koanh Mohamdi way of identifying with her people and to buttress the fight against the coronavirus as with the Disabled and Patients at hospital.
Making the donation on behalf of Mrs Mohamdi, Daniel Garteh Sr explained that during this time of our country where people who are physically challenged are finding it difficult to feed themselves, Sharon thought about people who are physically challenged and Patients who are at the hospital who are not moving.
She further asserted through Mr. Garteh that she pity their condition and decided to give back to them.
“Sharon said that while you are washing your hands, there is a need for you to eat and remain strong and healthy and follow all health protocols given by health care provider,” he adds.
About 10 bags of 25 kg rice and a cartoon of crown vita cube was donated to the Disable Community while another 10 bags and a cartoon of crown vita cube was donated to patients who are admitted at the hospital.
Receiving the items for the Disable Community, the President of the disable community of Nimba, Madam Nenlay G. Doe lauded Mrs. Mohamdi for thinking about people with disability.
For his part, the President of the Sanniquellie Disable Community Mr. Ablestine Tozay described the donation as timely and appreciated Sharon Koanh Mohamdi and her family for the gesture.
He narrated that they as disable people are finding it extremely difficult to move around to find food for themselves during this 3:00PM mandate given by the government.
Tozay used the occasion and called on other well-meaning citizens not to forget about them and follow the good example of Mrs. Mohamdi.
In separate remarks, Nurses Director at the George Way Harley Hospital Joseph Nenwah termed it as the presentation as the first of its kind to the patients during this Covid-19 outbreak in the country.
Nenwah noted that they are faced with serious challenges in providing feeding for patients who are on various medical walls at the hospital.
He applauded Mrs. Mohamdi for the timely gesture and promised to wisely use it for the intended purpose.
