The Chairman of the Isaac K. Krah Foundation (IKKF) has revealed that the foundation has empowered Liberian youth in the educational sector since its establishment three years ago with scholarship program.
Chairman Alfred L. Collins explained that the scholarship program is intended for students who made excellent grades in schools which are refer to as scholars in the academic setting within the Liberian society.
Chairman Collins made the revelation in an exclusive interview Wednesday with the Liberia Public Radio on 12th Street in Sinkor suburb of Monrovia.
According to him, the scholarship program is provided to students from the university level to the elementary level of the Liberian school system to empower brighter students in the country.

He indicated that as the result of the novel Coronavirus outbreak in the nation, the foundation has begun distributing hands washing buckets with sanitary materials in various communities in the electoral district eight in Montserrado County.

He pinpointed that the foundation empower young people in the various communities to create awareness concerning the health protocols preventive measures against COVID-19 among community’s dwellers.
Chairman Collins asserted that the foundation also provided some bags of rice and financial assistance to people in the various communities as the result of the State of Emergency declared by the Liberian Government to fight against COVID-19 in the country.

Liberia has almost 65% youth population and the foundation is hoping to cater to significant portion of the population following the eradication of the COVID-19 in Liberia. The organization has also embarked on major capacity building of Liberia women through loans scheme to advance their businesses.

He maintained that foundation has plans to help transform the development of young people across the nation and hope that the fight against COVID-19 will be taken seriously by every Liberian and other residing in Liberia.

Chairman Collins stressed that the health protocols should be observed strongly no matter the status of people in the various communities, noting that the check points of hands washing at communities entrances are necessary to preventive the further spread of virus.
