Four persons feared dead and several others are reportedly stocked underground after collapse of a gold mine in Jorquelleh District, Bong County.
The LPR correspondent said the incident happened in Jackson Village located in the Jorquelleh District about 10kilometers away from Gbarnga City.
Police in Bong County said efforts to rescue the individuals who were miners continues.
Authorities in the county said they cannot confirm the exact number of miners who were trapped during the collapse, although four persons are feared dead.
Some sources told LPR that about 20 people are believed to be trapped in the debris deep in the mine.
It is the second mine disaster in one month period.
Last week, at least 2 persons are reportedly feared dead in Grand Cape Mount county following a landslide which took place about 1:00PM EST (6:00pm Liberian time) on May 4, 2020.
Liberia Public Radio contributor Osman Nyei in Grand Cape said the landslide took place in the twon of Masaakpaoh Tewor District, Grand Cape Mount County 45 kilometers off the town of Tieni.
