A lifeless body of a 19 year old motorcyclist identified as Princeton Gaye was on Wednesday June 17 morning found lying in a pool of blood with face down in a bush about 6 Kilometer away from sanniquellie along the Ganta highway.

The body was found with two legs tied with rubber, a jacket, while his hands and face were also tied with rubber and jacket as well.

Cyclist Princeton Gaye is said to be hailing from Garplay Town, Tweh River District in Electoral District # 4 in Nimba County, but recently moved to Ganta to live there and carry on his commercial motorcycle activities.

The body was discovered by one Prince Mantah who according to him, was on his way to his farm and saw a mark on the ground believed to be a fighting mark by men and decided to investigate what had really happened.

According to Mantah, he started to follow the marks from one point to another until he discovered the body.

“When I saw the body, I never knew what it was first, so I moved closer to know what it was, after I realized that it was a body, I started running back to town to call the police officers” Mantah told our correspondent.

A 15 men jury was set up to examine the body and they reported that they suspected that unknown men flogged the cyclist to death and took away his motorcycle, but no body parts were missing.

Police in Nimba County are yet to identify any suspect as investigation continues.

Ritualistic killings are common in rural Liberia especially where motorcyclists mostly commute in pursuit of daily bread.
