Jewel Starfish Foundation extends its Codvid-19 response to Greenville

The Jewel Starfish Foundation has extended it Codvid-19 response to Sinoe County by identifying with 50 young girls who are beneficiaries of the foundation Scholarship in Greenville.

Making the Presentation Tuesday, June 16, 2020 on behalf of Vice President, Madam Grace Scootland  Brima Executive Director of the Women empowerment for self-Employment said  the donation was the VP on way of extending her helping hands to girls during this time of global crisis, especially girls that are benefiting from her program.

 She noted that girls are the most vulnerable and during this kind of time its prudent enough to give them all the support they need.

‘’The vice president brings you all greetings and this is her own way of extending her helping hands to you girls, especially you that are benefiting from the starfish program.

You know girls are the most vulnerable so they need every support in this kind of time, these are food items and hygienic material for you girls to keep you safe and healthy”, she adds.

Madam Brima presented 50 bags of 25 kg rice, sanitary pads, 50 hand handwashing buckets, among others.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Student Casandra Doe praised the Vice President and Jewel starfish Foundation for the kind gesture and continuous support to them.

‘’ We the starfish girls are very happy and want to extend our appreciation to the Vice President and the Jewel Starfish foundation for the Continuous support given us, we are very, very happy mama Jewel thank you’’, she told the group.

The beneficiaries came from the five High Schools in Greenville.

In attendance was the Gender Coordinator of Ministry of Gender, Women groups, the media, Civil society organization etc.

The Jewel Starfish Foundation is an Organization founded by Madam Jewel Howard Taylor Vice president of the Republic of Liberia in 2018, which seek to support and empower high school girls across Liberia.
