Concern Citizens of Fissebu have called on government to ensure justice is in the alleged gruesome murder of Korto Gbolu in Zorzor District, Lofa County.
The Group Secretary General, Gbala Korkolee said the deceased left her house early Monday morning to attend market in Koyamah, Guinea on March 16.
He said the late woman commonly known as Darlisu did not return until she was discovered dead on Wednesday March 18.
The SG noted that she was citizen of Fissebu Town, Marbosu Quarter in Zorzor District Lofa County.
Korkolee claimed prior to the incident, she played key role during the re-burial of the late Yeama Zizi a day before the occurrence.
Unfair jury process
According to him, the Deputy Town Chief, immediately call upon the Crime Service Division (CSD) officer, who arrived on Thursday March 19 and was authorized to bury Korto Gbolu, alias Darlisu without forming the 15 men juries.
Gbala Korkolee said the intervention of the CSD Officer in the matter was “unsatisfactory”to the citizens of the Town, due to failure to follow some procedures.
He claimed that the Crime Service Division conducted the burial without jury report to the family and allegedly received LDR$ 5, 000 for unknown reason.
At the same time, he stressed that through a request to the Office of the Commissioner, another CSD Team from Voinjama was invited for further investigation.
The Concern Citizens of Fissebu, Secretary said when the second team arrived on Thursday April 2, an open investigation was conducted at the Zorzor Police Station.
According to him, the team was immediately taken to the crime scene and asked that the Concern Citizens form the 15 men jury but they refused on grounds that the evidence was already destroyed.
He said noted on Saturday April 4, the Crime Services Division told the citizens, there was no concrete fact gathered or provided to validate the establishment of a legal case regarding the death of the late Darlisu.
Korkolee claimed the second CSD findings make believed that the late Darlisu death was natural, but they are yet to be convinced.
According to him, the way in which the lady died is a disgrace to womanhood.
The Concern Citizens of Fissebu plead government intervention in seeking justice for the mysterious death of Korto Gbolu.
According to him, the County Attorney Cllr. Luther Sumo is taking their concern lightly as such they are in Monrovia to see intervention.
The group claimed the mysterious death of females in the town is alarming of which the proper intervention is needed.
He said the Association of Female Lawyers of Liberia is also being engaged.
When contacted AFELL, the President Attorney Vivian Neal confirmed, noting the group is ensuring that the relevant authorities are reach.
Ritualistic killings are common in Liberia especially some rural areas.
