NTAL inducts Montserrado Branch Interim Leadership

The National Teachers Association of Liberia (NTAL) has inducted the interim Leadership of the Montserrado Branch of the association until the next national convention of the organization.

Speaking  Thursday August 6, 2020 at the induction ceremony held at the headquarters of the association in Sinkor, National President of NTAL  Mary  w. M. Nyumah  said officers of the Montserrado  Branch have a significant role to play   to enhance the growth and development of association across the nation.

President Nyumah noted that since the last convention of the association in 2018 and the Montserrado Branch has not being part of NTAL activities due to leadership crisis in the branch has affected more of the achievements of the branch.

According to her, the NTAL is currently working along with the Ministry of Education to ensure the verification of teacher’s names on government payroll from every county and also to address issues confronting government teachers across the country.

She indicated that  every county branch of the association  is  going through the process of identifying their teachers  who are working and names  on are not on the government payroll  through the verification process with the Ministry of Education, but hoped that  the interim leadership of Montserrado Branch   will get  involved with process  to identify their teachers in the county.

President Nyumah stressed that the association look forward to officers of the interim leadership to foster unite and cooperation to strengthen the activities of the branch in the association to improve the living standard of teachers in Liberia.

Meanwhile, the President of the Interim Leadership of the Montserrado Branch of NTAL Magdalene P. Brown said officers of the interim leadership are prepared to work with the national leadership to move the association development agenda forward.

Madam Brown stated that the branch will work along to advocate for better working condition for government teachers across the nation.

She noted that the welfare of public schools teachers have been granted   over the years and under her leadership the welfare of teachers   will be prioritized.

She assured that before end of December 2020, the Montserrado Branch of NTAL will establish its office to enhance the activities of the branch in the 17 districts of the county.

These inducted are Mrs. Magdalene P. Brown President, Williametta Tellawoyan Vice President, Augustine  Frederick  Secretary,  Samuel  z. Harris  Principal  Representative,  Daniel  D. Cooper Non- Teaching Staff, Sylvester Snowe Todee President, Eric Suamey Careysburg  District, J. Omekee Y. B. Saydee President Left Bank # 1 and Mark S.   Sarbor.
