The Administrator of the Bong County Health Team, Mr. Jonah Nulee Togbah has termed as “malicious and ridiculous” recent statement made by the Representative of Electoral District #4, Robert Flomo Womba that he gave fifty thousand United States dollars ($50,000.00USD) to the Bong County Health Team for the opening of the controversial Yowee clinic.

In a recent meeting with citizens of Yowee, Rep.  Womba alleged that he gave fifty thousand United States Dollars to Mr. Jonah N. Togbah, administrator of the Bong County Health Team for the opening of the Yowee clinic.

“I gave the money to Jonah to able to open the Yowee clinic to enable our people to have access to an affordable and reachable health center. I can’t just understand why he is wasting time and does not want to make use of the taxpayers’ money.

Let us stop making politics with health,” Representative Robert Womba alleged.

But appearing on a local radio station (Super Bongese FM 104.9) in the county on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, Mr. Togbah termed the statement as unfounded and it’s only intended to derail his hard-earned character.

The youthful administrator however challenged Rep. Womba to provide proves for such an ‘unsubstantiated’ allegation.

The Bong County Health services supervisor further warned Rep. Womba to desist from playing politics with the lives of the ordinary citizens who stood in the sun and rains to vote him.

When contacted Rep. Womba confirmed his statement, but said he lobbied with his colleagues to place fifty thousand United States dollars for the Yowee clinic, not the Bong County Health Team.

During the 2017/2018 fiscal budget, both Bayata and Yowee clinics were simultaneously captured with the controversial Bayata clinic being budgeted for $75,000 USD while the Yowee clinic was allotted $50,000 USD.

Of the 50k allocation, Jonah explained that the Yowee clinic received $8,000 USD and was used to commence an initial renovation that costs around $21,000 USD.

“The estimated cost to renovate the area was around $21,000 USD. We needed to recondition or replace the doors for the facility, repaint the entire building, electrify the area, restructure the Celtic tank, do other major works at the facility, among other things.

That 8k could not complete the works we need to have done. We started but not go far,” Jonah Togbah explained

After more than twelve years of controversies, the Yowee clinic was set to be opened to the Public on Sunday, September 20.

Mr. Togbah said Bong County Senator, Henry Willie Yallah, is buttressing all efforts that are being made for the opening of the Yowee clinic.

Mr. Jonah Nulee Togbah said renovation works are at 80-90% completion and all is set for the opening of the clinic on Sunday.

“The Yowee clinic opening is now set for Sunday, September 20. The needed materials have been purchased, thanks to senator Henry Willie Yallah who gave us some money. It has been a battlefield as the lawmaker has continuously derailed my character that I embezzle the money” Jonah disclosed.

According to Jonah Nulee Togbah, through the influence of senator Yallah, eleven (11) persons will be employed at the facility.

The Gbarnga-siaquelleh native said the Bong County Health Team will continue to uphold the motto of this government, which is providing effective and efficient healthcare for the ordinary citizens.
