39-year-old man charged with Multiple Offenses

Police in Monrovia has arrested charged and sent to court a 39 years old man identified as Cheeseman Cole for multiple offenses ranging from aggravated assault, criminal attempt to commit murder, possession and sale of physical objects for lethal use, felonious restraint and theft of property.

According to police charge sheet, defendant Cole was apprehended based on a complainant filed on early September to October 8,2020, by 27 victims who have fallen pretty to the actions of defendant Cole lured the survivors at his home through a social media thereby inflicting serious bodily injuries and threatened to expose them if any one hears his act perpetrated against them.

Cole was arrested based upon a tip off from friends of a missing man who was allegedly kept in defendant Cole’s fence along the RIA high way.

Investigation conducted confirmed that a search and seizure warrant was issued on the premises of defendant Cole and the following items were discovered:

Police found Cole one single barrel short gun pistol, two live rounds, one Liberian passport #L 218522 belonging to complainant Emmanuel Freeman, one camouflage trousers, one military trousers, kitchen knife, screw driver, scissors and US 160 which  defendant Cole claimed is his business money.

During police probe, it was established that defendant Cole, admitted interacting with several of the victims or survivors, flogged them and seized their properties on ground that they were gays and told them to go and sin no more.

He was also found in violation of Chapter 14 section 14.20, Chapter 10 section 10.1, Chapter 17 section 17.11, Chapter 14 section 14.51 and Chapter 15 section 15.53 of the penal code of Liberia respectively.

In another development, police in Monrovia through the women and Children protection section has charged and sent to court a 60-year -old man identified as George Dankwan a resident of the Mamba Point community for allegedly Raping a 14-year-old minor.

According to the 14 years old survivor, on September 8, 2019, her aunt identified as  Massa Dankwan wife left her alone home where she was sexually assaulted by Dankwan.

The survivor further told police Investigator that between September 27,2019, to the end of October 2019, her aunt’s husband (Dankwan) allegedly sexually abused her  multiple times in their bed room (Mr. & Mrs. Dankwan) and threatened to kill her if she tells her aunt[Massa].

She further narrated that the action of her aunty husband caused her to flee the house for fear of being harmed by defendant Dankwan.

Our reporter said upon medical report and testimonies from defendant Dankwan and the 14 years old survivor, defendant Dankwan has been charged with rape in line with Chapter 14 section 14.70 of the new rape law of Liberia.
