Liberia's Public Works Minister Mobutu Nyenpan was first treated at JFK hospital

Liberia’s Public Works Minister Mabutu Vlah Nyenpan has died in Accra, Ghana weeks after suffering a massive stroke.

Liberia information Minister Legerhood Rennie made the pronouncement early Friday October 30, 2020 in Monrovia.

The former Sinoe County senator in early September fell up from a stroke and spent several days in coma at the John F. Kennedy Hospital before being flown to Accra for advance medical treatment.

Minister Nyenpan had been undergoing intense treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana over the past two months, .

Some reports had it that Minister Nyenpan stroke was triggered by a meeting between he and Minister of state for presidential Affairs Nathaniel McGill including Monrovia city Mayor Jefferson Koijie where he[Nyenpan] was threatened with dismal.

Nyenpan, 54 was an engineer by profession.

Mr. Nyenpan won his seat in the 2005 general elections, running on the ticket of the Alliance for Peace & Democracy (APD).

During his time in the Senate, Mr. Nyenpan served as Co-Chair – Public Works & Rural Development; Information, Broadcasting, Culture and Tourism and was a Member of the Executive; Defense, Intelligence, Security and Veteran Affairs; Maritime; Planning and Economic committees.
