As the saying goes that “when things fall apart the center can no longer hold, this seems to be in the case of Representative Acarous Moses Gray and former Speaker James Emmanuel Nuquay.
It can be recalled that Rep. Gray once led Hon. Nuquay’s campaign that saw the removal of former speaker J. Alex Tyler, but it seems that the relationship that once existed between him and Hon. Nuquay has turned sour thus making things to fall apart.
This was shown in Cotton Tree Lower Margibi County over the weekend when Rep. Gray descended on Hon. Nuquay describing him as an outcast thereby calling on the Citizens of Margibi not to elect him in the December 8, 2020 mid-term senatorial election.
Hon. Gray told the gathering of hundreds of Hon. Jones’ supporters that he (Gray) nominated Nuquay for the speaker position but indicated that Nuquay is the ‘most ungrateful guy’ in the history of the Legislature.
The Montserrado district#8 Lawmaker who said experience is the best teacher told the people of Margibi County that J. Emmanuel Nuquay is a deceitful character that only goes around people when he wants something from them.
Mr. James Emmanuel Nuquay served as board chairman of the Liberia Civil Aviation Authority until recently he resigned from the Weah administration to contest in the pending election in Margibi County
But Rep. Gray revealed that the former speaker has compromised the trust and confidence to give Margibi the speaker position, the chairman on Ways, Means and Finance adding that he showed no development to Margibi County.
He said Hon. Nuquay served as chairman on ways means and finance for several years but he ignored the people of Margibi County and only developed himself instead of developing the County.
Additionally, Rep. Gray pointed out that Mr. Nuquay was speaker of the 53rd National Legislature and he did not speak for the people of Unification Town to get legitimacy over the 97 acres of land they have squatted on for years.
“He was speaker but he never talked for the people of Unification Town to give them 97 acres of Land, he had the power, he had the capacity, he had the finances; but this man is a greedy and selfish man” Rep. Gray indicated.
Hon. Gray who also dispelled rumors that the President of the Republic of Liberia, Dr. George Manneh Weah is supporting the candidacy of Hon. James Emmanuel Nuquay said the CDC has no other candidate in the senatorial race in the County other than Rep. Ivar K. Jones.
“The President of the Republic of Liberia will be here early next week, no one should ever make that mistake that the CDC is supporting another candidate” he stated.
The CDC’s National Campaign spokesperson declared Hon. Nuquay as an enemy to the “Mighty Coalition for Democratic Change, as such he cannot be supported by the President neither the Party as being claimed; narrating that the CDC is a party that does not compromise its candidate.
Jones not kpa-gba-kpa lawmaker
Rep. Gray informed the gathering that Hon. Jones is not “gbelleh” but members of the opposition are on kpa-gba-kpa something he said the CDC has no place for kpa-gba-kpa[unstable person]
He enlightened the Margibians that if they need a representation or somebody who can ably represent them in the Liberian Senate they need to support Hon. Jones whom he described as a humble and respectful man.
He urged CDCians to remain kind and peaceful discouraging them from retaliating when they’re attacked by members of the opposition blocks adding that the CDC, its collaborating partners, friends and well wishers are peace loving people.
At the same time, Rep. Gray has admonished Margibians that there must be no home land for Captain Mable (Senator Oscar A. Cooper) and those whom he claimed exploited the forest of the republic of Liberia as well as those whose names were placed on sanction list for stealing Liberia’s resources.
He also gave Hon. Ben A. Fofana who is vying for the senate seat in the 2020 mid-term senatorial election in the County on the ticket of the Collaborating Political Party (CPP) 72hrs to surrender or be surrender by the democratic forces of the CDC.
