One of Liberia’s leading Gold Mining Company based in Central Liberia in Bong County, Kokoya District MNG Gold is meeting up with the expectations of her Community initiatives and social responsibility projects.

MNG Liberia has embarked on several developmental initiatives in Liberia actually in her mining place Bong County, Kokoya to include $250,000 United States Dollars Communities Clinic Construction.

Liberia Public Radio National correspondent in Bong said MNG have rehabilitated 77.7Km roads in its Kokoyah concession coast$ 414, 684.9USD and constructed 12.6km new roads; cost 882,000USD total cost $ 1,296, 684.90, additionally, MNG has constructed High School with vocational training facilities for Kokoyah District with cost of 1.2million USD.

The leading Liberian Gold Mining Company has also rehabilitated 100 pumps constructed 27 New hand Pumps in its Kokoyah Concession area with cost of $27, 000USD, MNG has also constructed a modern Police Station with 18 bedroom Police Officers’ self-contained living quarters and modern enclosed Market Building in David Deans Town.

 The company also immensely contributed to the fight of CONVID-19 pandemic MNG provided 1,000bags of rice to sayewheh Town during the TSF incident in 2017 and have distributed 960 bags of rice to communities across Boinsen District and Institutions in Kokoyah and Bong County with total cost of $29,400 United States Dollars.

Keeping up Promises

As part of MNG’s Community initiatives in sustaining a cordial working relationship with affected communities MNG is providing a monthly finical compensation to Town Chiefs and Elders in key Towns within Kokoya District, Speaking to Liberia Public Radio the General Superintendent of MNG Liberia Mr. Eugene Kollie expressed gratitude to MNG Liberia for up keeping the promises to her valuable workers who are well paid by MNG and are provided all the necessities as provided by decent work act.

Eugene Kollie, also frowned at detractors who are engaged in blackmailing MNG Liberia of bad labor practices at its Kokoyah mining site is very unacceptable; the General Superintendent of MNG Liberia further disclosed that the General Manager of MNG Liberia Cem Koray Yagci is committed to impacting the lives of Liberians in its operation areas without hesitations.

Liberia Public Radio managed to speak to some elders of Kokoya District who appealed to speak on anonymity praised MNG for the rehabilitation of roads in the District and further appealed to the management of MNG Liberia to established a modern radio station that will adequately informs the citizens about progress made by MNG, local governance and entertain them due to the political nature of radio stations in the District.

On the issue of Education, MNG Liberia has provided $ 50,000 United States Dollars to annual scholarship payment for Kokoyah Students 2015/ 2016- 2019/2020 for students at Universities, Colleges and High Schools, locally MNG Liberia also provided the amount of $100, 000 United States Dollars for the renovations of the two public schools in Sayewheh and David Deans Towns respectively, for the effectiveness of the institutions.

MNG Liberia is providing monthly payment of 11 volunteer teachers annually, making a payment of $72,000 United States Dollars as Social Development Funds to Bong County and a direct payment of $36,000 United States Dollars to Kokoyah Bank Account.

MNG Group  was founded by Mehmet Nazif Günal in the 1970’s.

The MNG Group now employs more than 20,000 people and has over 70 trading companies with interests including Construction, Railways, Tourism, Energy production, Media and Finance and Air Cargo.
