Eight people have been found dead in one house under a mysterious circumstances after celebrating the graduation party of one of their siblings the same night.
The incident occurred in the Cortafield Community, Paynesville City outside Monrovia
Among the dead is a graduate from the University of Liberia who graduation the family was celebrating along with her daughter and another teenager.
Most of the victims were found in the living room where they were reportedly sleeping.
The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the ELWA Hospital for medical examinations.
It is not clear what led to their death but police preliminary investigation suggests Carbon monoxide poisoning caused by a generator which was placed in the kitchen of the two room apartment to provide electricity that night.
Information gathered also indicates that the DJ who was hired to play songs for the graduation party did not sleep at the house as many people were wondering on his whereabout.
Liberia Public Radio reporter who went on the scene quoted community residents as saying at about 10 PM Wednesday night they notice that the apartment went quiet only for them to wake up to the sad news Thursday morning.
Hundreds of Community members stormed the house in tears as news of their demised emerged.
The death of the eight people is the biggest tragedy the country has witnessed since the unfortunate death of 27 young koranic students and their instructor in a fire incident in Bassa town community around the Paynesville commercial district of red light in 2019.
