Liberia: 16 -year-old boy kills himself in Kakata City

A 16-year-old boy identified as Rennie P. Tuah has committed suicide in Margibi County.

The incident occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday on March 21, 2021 in the World Bank Community, Kakata City.

The deceased according to report shot himself in the head with a silver single barrel gun while in door.

The uncle of Rennie, P. Roye    Tuah told Liberia Public Radio on the crime scene that while at a baccalaureate service he received a phone call that his nephew has shot himself with a gun.

Mr. Tuah narrated that upon his arrival he saw the lifeless body of Rennie lying in a pour of blood in the room and he was informed that the Margibi Detachment of the National Police took the gun used by his nephew away.

When asked if Rennie had misunderstanding with anyone including his family prior to the incident, Mr. Tuah stated that he cannot remember anything of such but said the deceased was involved into bad hobby such as the consumption of alcoholic beverages and drugs.

He explained that Rennie who lived with his parents prior to his death associated himself with other disadvantaged youths indicating that his parents advised him against his hobbies but he could not listen to them.

He can stay in the shop, he cannot really go to walk about but he normally follow his friends and will return few minutes he continued.

Meanwhile, Police in Margibi County have confirmed that Rennie actually committed suicide.

However, Police is investigating how the victim got the gun he used to kill himself.

The crime scene is of no distance from a local car wash and the home of disadvantaged youths who also wash cars and motorcycles on a daily basis.
