The C.H Dewey Sports Pitch in Tubmanburg Bomi County will soon become a modern Sports Stadium with seating capacity and artificial turf.
The facility will include medical and dressing room for both teams as former Balon ord Winner, Africa icon and 1995 African footballer of the year, President George Weah has made his commitment to revamping the Bomi County Sports pitch into a modern one, for the benefit of Grassroot footballer and to produce more World best.
“Since Rocky Sports pitch, can produce the best player, this time a modern Stadium with turf will produce a more best player, like me, Weah said.
The President also pledge his commitment to contribute immensely to the infrastructure development of Sporting facilities across the Country.
Speaking to the People of Bomi County as part of his second Counties engagement with the locals as a means of taking the Government to the People, President Weah said he as a former soccer player and ex- ballon or winner, who got some of his skills that turn him into the best player in the World, will transform the pitch into a mini stadium.
I remember we came here to play with young Survivors in 1985, and this field was rocky and I still use to manage dribble and score, we beat all the teams we met and that time Snowe was a little boy, so it is time I turn this Sports pitch into modern one with turf, the President said.
The field the President said, already has a nature look, now it is about time it become a modern sports Stadium to produce more his kind, a World Best, who come from a rocky football field, Weah stressed.
Meanwhile, the President comes in awake of former President of the Liberia Football Association LFA, Edwin Melvin Snowe Jr appeals to the President to help improve under developed sporting facilities in the County with special reference to the CH Dewey Football field where he once played for Survival Football Club.
The CH Dewey Sports Pitch, established in the early, 70s when completed into a modern stadium is not part of Football World Government body FIFA palor Project of Constructing grassroot football field into a stadium across Africa, but a Presidential Project, which will be strictly erected by the President George Manneh Weah administration.
Already, the Tusa Football Field in the Gardnerville and the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex Practice Pitch, is already becoming a mini sports Stadium as part of Liberia portion of the FIFA project across Africa under the leadership and initiative of Liberia Football Association President Mustapha Raji.
