Gbarpolu County to Benefit 200 Pro-Poor Housing Units

Bopolu City_The people of Gbarpolu County are expected to benefit from the construction of 200 housing units.

It follows an  authorization  issued by President George Weah to the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment.

President Weah, on Tuesday, March 25, 2021 at a Town hall meeting in Bopolu, the capital city of Gbarpolu said Bopolu and Gbarma will benefit one hundred units each.

He said the aimed is to construct one-thousand five hundred housing units across the county, noting such will help to better their lives of those living in make shift

 According to the Liberian Leader, the construction of the housing is in continuation of his initiative to delete huts in smaller towns and construct modern structures for better living conditions across the country.

“We are doing the Presidential initiative, we are going to county and moving the huts in smaller villages to make sure every county benefit hundred housing unit,” he said.

“Your county will be part of the counties benefiting from the pro-poor housing units,” The President stressed.

Although the President did not state the duration bet stressed that the living condition of underprivileged Liberians should be improved and it is government responsibility.

He directed the Superintended J.Keyah Saah to work along with the Executive Director of LACE, Quiwu Pepci Yeke to ensure that the targeted areas are capture for full implementation.

Some of the counties benefiting from the pro-poor one-thousand house units include Bong, Grand Gedeh, River Gee, Grand Kru and now Gbarpolu.
