Several Liberians have complained that the food distribution did not reach them.

Members of the Liberian Senate have trashed a Covid-19 Steering Committee Report which reveals about 2.3 million people have benefited from the food distribution exercise across the country.

The Senate also considered the report as a document created at the famous World Trade Center on Gurley Street, downtown Monrovia.

Making their separate inputs on the Covid-19 Steering Committee Report while in session Thursday, many senators expressed disbelieve over statistics that were provided by Mr. Wilson Tarpeh, who is heading the Food Distribution Committee.

OK Fm quoted Mr. Tarpeh as saying at a Senate hearing, noted that 5 of the 15 counties have successfully received their package while distributions in the remaining 10 counties are expected to be completed by May 31th this year.

He asserted that approximately 200 hundred thousand vulnerable people are expected to benefit from the remaining food distribution.

The stimulus package was part of a 30 million United states dollars funding from the government of Liberia to benefit the most vulnerable people affected by the Corronavirus pandemic.
