For the first time in three years, President George Manneh Weah has touch down in Lofa County as received a standing ovation by the people of Lofa County.
A round of applause from the crowd on Thurday, June 3, 2021 as President George Manneh Weah Ex- Barlon d’or and President of the Republic of Liberia and his entourage companioned by the Vice President H.E. Chief Dr. jewel Howard Taylor arrived in Beyan Town in Lofa near the St. Paul Bridge, Bong County, the Boundary between Bong County and Lofa county.
An official brief welcoming Ceremony was held In Beyan town as part of leg four of the 2021 Presidential Counties Tour.
Weah dressed in his Black African attire got down from the vehicle in Nuarph Town,Bong County accompanied by the Vice President Chief Dr. Jewel Howard Taylor disembarked his the vehicle and walked through St. Paul Bridge, the boundary between the two counties waving to supporters as security personnel roping the area.
The President was introduced with rousing applaud before being received by the Liberia Traditional Council headed by Chief Zanzan Kawor and his traditional men, in presence of Internal affairs Minister Varney Sirleaf, whom than did the official turning over to Lofa County.
While in Salayea District, the Liberian leader held a town hall meeting with the people and than broke ground for the extension of the Ganglota Public School to a Senior High School.
President Weah hailed citizens of Salayea, area the people of Lofa, for voting him into power three years ago.
The Liberian Chief Executive told the jubilant citizens he and his entourage were in the county to “tell them thank you” and share challenges facing them and how government can intervene.
“I am happy to be in Lofa, in Salayea District. Lofa is part of the fifteen counties,” the thrilled President said.
He said he was impressed with the excellent work the people of Lofa have done and continue to do, adding, “You are a strong and resilient people.”
The President told Salayea citizens that Lofans were extremely doing well and that there is a strong need for government to complement them in order to do more.
Responding to the many petitions put before him such a health center, market building and others, the President assured residents of Lofa that government will address their plight as soon as possible.
He used the gathering to appreciate health workers for the monumental sacrifices they are making to save lives in the county.
“I want to thank health workers for the good job they’re doing here, and government will have to help them do more. We have good, hardworking and resilient people in the health sector. With the little they are doing, if you give them good facilities, they can do more,” President Weah averred.
Meanwhile after a night over in Zorzor District Lofa County, the President of the Republic of Liberia, than held a town hall meeting in Konia, Lofa County, before matching into the Capitol Voinjama, where a rousing welcome by thousands of lofians as the crowd when wide, followed by a football match between the Weah -all-star and Lofa all-star as the president held town hall engagement with his people as usual dishing out four-million Liberian dollar to celebrate his visit.
The Liberian leader than lavished praises on Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor, who is also on the Lofa trip with him, for the good job she is doing.
He said the Vice President is a smart woman who is working to impact lives and help the government achieve its objectives.
Liberia Public Radio correspondent traveling with President Weah is reporting that the Liberian president and his team have far-north district of Lofa County in continuation of their tour.
