LACE boss gifts several assorted food materials in Lofa County

The quest of some citizens of Lofa County to seek the well-being  and continue to put smiles on the faces of their kinsmen despite the health challenges continue to be champion by one of the prominent sons of the County.

As the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE) Executive Director, Pepci Quiwu Yeke venture in such direction, President George Weah has partnered and donated huge consignment of assorted items to the citizens of Lofa County.

The collaboration was geared towards gifting for the people in that part of the country to have a befitting Independence Celebration that would bring joy to them regardless of the current pandemic that engulf the country.

Mr. Yeke prior to the Independence Day Celebration, which is widely known as 26, presented over one thousand bags of 25 kg rice, twenty (20) bales of Used Clothes, and fifty (50) bundles of zinc and some cash through a local team for distribution across the County.

The items were donated to health facilities in the county to include the Curran Lutheran, Tellewoyan, Boma hospitals and Fissebu and Salayea clinics, situated in Zorzor, Voinjama, Kolahun and Foya.

Others who benefited from the gesture are orphanages, vulnerable women; disable community, old folks, volunteer teachers in the county and mosques within Zorzor District.

The LACE Boss said each of the hospitals received 100 bags of 25 kg rice and one thousand Liberian Dollar cash (LR$100,000) while  the clinics got 50 bags of 25 kg rice and fifty thousand Liberian Dollar (LR$50, 000).

According to him, the gesture did not only affect the districts but extended to several towns to include Borkeza, Zelemai, Yeala, Kiliwu, Malawu and Zolowo.

Mr. Yeke stressed that the needy in the towns got their potion of the food and non-food items as part of July 26 package.

The LACE Boss said such is his personal initiative augmented by the President to spice up the 174th Independence Celebration of his people.

The items were donated to health facilities in the county to include the Curran Lutheran, Tellewoyan, Boma hospitals and Fissebu and Salayea clinics, situated in Zorzor, Voinjama, Kolahun and Foya.

“As a son of Lofa the best I can do for my people is to help in whatever means I can, especially amidst this COVID-19 pandemic when they need to celebrate 26” he stressed.

The beneficiaries with gratitude thanked President Weah through the Executive Director of LACE, noting that the gesture was timely and brought smiles to their faces.

This gesture is amongst several initiatives carryout by Pepci Quiwu Yeke in the county, to include the lighting of Fissebu and refilling empty oxygen tanks.
