A professional senior Liberian soccer coach has called on his fellow Liberians to utilize every opportunity wisely in life whenever afforded by the special grace of God.

Mr. Easter H. Tarlibo told his fellow compatriots that most often many of us do not know what an opportunity is, “they walk in opportunities, sleep in opportunities, eat with opportunity, dance with opportunity, laugh with opportunity, play with opportunities , sometimes fight with opportunities and more over abuse opportunities”.

“Today, I can see this Liberian Anono community is seizing the opportunity of advancing itself, they are not pulled down by what others have to tell them, they appreciate the values of who they are and what they share as people and move their community on another level”.

“Many of us see opportunity today as going to Europe, Asia, United States of America and other parts of the world, for many of us, having huge amounts of money in our bank accounts is an opportunity we forget those people and access around us”.

“I was fortunate to work with an institution where I met people in the system 10-15 years before me I was low paid compared to most of them, but I was determined to use that job as an opportunity to get what I wanted to achieve, I begin to use my resources to advance oneself into higher education”.

Mr. Tarlibo made these remarks when he served as a guest speaker at the Independence Day celebration of Liberia and an official induction ceremony of newly elected officials for the local Liberian community group in Riviera Anono, Abidjan Cote d’Ivoire.

He also used the occasion to call on Mr. Ralph A. Dixon and his officers to lead his local community group wisely, because Mr. termed a leadership as an opportunity.

“Today, Mr. Ralph Dixon, your people have called you to lead them this is an opportunity, what are you going to do with this opportunity”?

“Those of you who have elected Ralph Dixon, what are you going to do with the opportunity you have given him to serve as your community leader”?

“Are you going to take all your time to sit down and criticize him? Alternatively, you are going to join hands with him to see that the Anono community grows and reap those fruits as a better community”?

“It is not enough just by electing a leader, but working along  with them, Ralph, for the past years I have been knowing you and working with you, I can openly say here that you are a brave, strong, and intelligent  leader and I have no doubt why your people choose you” he concludes.

For his part, Mr. Ralph Dixon of the local Liberian community expressed his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to his organization for chosen him to lead.

“Today, we wholeheartedly embrace this change, we recognize that this change is not change for changing sake, but a fundamental break with the past, thereby requiring that we take bold and decisive steps to address the problems that for decades have hindered our progress, undermined Community  unity, and kept old and new cleavages in ferment”.

”As we embrace this new commitment to change, it is befitting that, for the first time, an inauguration ceremony for the local Liberian community is being held in Riviera Anono, one of the best communities in Abidjan”.

“We pledge our commitment to transparency, open policy, and participatory democracy for all of our community members”.

“I cannot summon the words to thank the people of this community who have made this historic day possible, what the people of this community have delivered for this cannot even be described in words”, he concludes.

Those inaugurated are, Mr. Ralph A. Dixon Chairman, Mr. McDonald Momolu Kennedy, vic…
