The Young Visionary of Africa, a nongovernmental organization (NGO) in Cote d’Ivoire has concluded an entrepreneurship seminar with a precision to focus on agriculture related activities as young Ivoirians and not to depend on white-collar jobs as been in the past.
Speaking at the seminar the first facilitator, Mr. Serif Tall underlined numerous business opportunities in the agriculture industry, such as cassava production for attieke, fish breeding and many more.
“I urged you all as young people and students at Cocody University to visit the Republic of Mali, because whenever you visit Mali every Malian is involved into an agriculture business and he or she feels like an entrepreneur”
“One of the problems that the agriculture industry is faced with is the lack of government’s financial support to the industry”.
“Do not be afraid to take risks, because life in itself is a very big risk, you’re coming to school every day with the expectation of becoming a great person in life, but what assurance do you have’’?
“I am simply trying to tell you that you do not need to be afraid to start up a business as entrepreneur, because there will be challenges, but you have to believe in yourself and make it work, because nothing comes easily in life”.
For his part Mr. Gnohou Jean Marc who specializes in fish breeding also pointed out the lack of financial resources for the agriculture industry, something, which he believes, is an obstacle that is affecting the growth and development of the industry.
“I welcomed you to start up a small fishing project by breeding fish, but you have to use the legal means so that you will get into trouble”.
“You can even start breeding fish today if you want to, because for now there no competition, but in years to come there will be, simply because the sector is profitable when you understand it”.
“Get yourself involve into activities that are productive, especially in the field of agriculture and we are going to help in guiding you”.
“Let me remind you that when you start do not think about getting big profits when you begin the first production, because you can use the first benefit to reimburse people if you have borrowed money in setting up your business”.
“You can begin your investment little by little if you do not more funds and even remember that they will be challenges,” he concludes.
Young Visionary of Africa is an NGO founded in 2016 with the vision to fight against poverty and unemployment and to educate young Africans about entrepreneurship, leadership and finance among other.
Mr. Bob Dylan, founder and president of Young Visionary of Africa lauded the efforts of both facilitators and participants for their availability to be a part of the seminar.
