The president of the South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 arrived in the West African state of Cote d’Ivoire.

 According to information, gathered by the Liberia Public Radio Correspondent in Abidjan, President Cyril Ramaphosa will be on a 72hours visit beginning Wednesday, December 1, 2021 to Friday December 3, 2021.

The South African president visit is believed to be a part of strengthening bilateral relations between South Africa and Côte d’Ivoire.

The agenda will provide for a “tête-à-tête” between the South African and Ivorian heads of state at the presidential palace, Thursday 02 December, a high-level meeting of the two heads of state extended to members of the Ivorian and South delegations our source further indicate.

President Cyril Ramaphosa will also focus on the laying of the first stone of the new headquarters of the South African telephone company MTN, to be followed by a visit to the Autonomous Port of Abidjan.

President Cyril Ramaphosa will be made an honorary citizen by the government of Ivory Coast on Friday, December 3, in the district of Abidjan.

Trade between the two nations amounted to 370.908 billion Fcfa in 2020 against 291.03 billion in 2019, an increase of 79.878 billion Fcfa.
