Mawine Diggs: Marketers are Bedrock of Liberian Economy

The Minister of Commerce and Industry (MoCI)  Mawine G. Diggs, has described the Liberia Marketing Association LMA as the true foundation of the Liberian economy, nothing marketers should be respected in the society, for their strength toward the growth and development of Liberia.

Min. Diggs said the marketers are key builders to the Liberian economy, and should therefore be prioritize as very important tools to the nation rebuilding.
The Commerce Minister also calls for reconciliation and unification within the Liberian marketing Association, while urging them to uphold the peace in order to move the association forward.

“Without you the marketers, there can be no economy, because are the founding block of our economy, all you need to do is unite and get the recognitions, you deserves”, she asserted.

She describes the marketers, as extremely important to the society and should not be ovoverlooked. The Commerce Minister further assure the marketers that the Government of Liberia of President George Manneh Weah, will ensured that marketers are protected and promoted.

“So when are speak about promoting LMA, ” I speak about protecting LMA, therefore am refering to upholding the protocols that you hold, that elevations that will enable you move from tables to shop, from shops to stores, Min. Diggs asserted.
Min. Diggs stressed with peace and unity, marketers can archive a common goal by moving from tables to stores, the Minister use the occasion to called on government entities, private institutions and corporation to support the Liberia Marketing Association.

The Minister assure marketers that they will early January 2022 benefit from a two-million loan investment promise by President George Manneh Weah, during the recent 2021 Presidential Counties Tour.

While, inducting them into office, Min. Diggs, charged the newly elected leadership of the LMA to be committed, and live up to expectations, she at the same time urged them to unite the marketers.

She reminded the inductees about peace and reconciliation which is the hallmark of improving the association. The Minister congratulated the inductees and urged them to bring their wealth of experience on the table to improve the association.

The Newly-install President of the Liberia Marketing Association LMA, Elizabeth Finda Sambolah, promised to ensure transparency, accountability and calls on marketers to unite for a common goal. Madam Sambolah promised to work with all markerts to ensure a smooth leadership that will enable the LMA to move forward.

The LMA Boss, lauds President Weah for his endless support to the Liberia Marketing Association, while at the same time appealing for the Government of Liberia to construct an office space, storage facilities at various markets, something she pinpointed that the LMA has been lacking over the years.

She stated that under her leadership, the association would help improve livelihood of marketers. “There is the need to we move the LMA forward, no time to hate, let us all come together and for a common goal, ” whether you were in the past leadership, this time you need to join us and let move the LMA forward, because you are still part of the Liberia marketing Association and still be a marketer, Sambolah stressed.

Madam Elizabeth Sambola said internal wrangling within the LMA has the propensity to obstruct its progress and impede the development of its members, calling for reconciliation among its members.

Elizabeth Sambola- President, Cecelia Joeh Weah, Vice President, Patrick Sarti, Secretary-General, Patrick Jolo -Assistant Secretary-General and Old lady Sneh were all sworn into office on Oath’s as the new leadership of the Liberia Marketing Association (LMA) that will stirred the affairs of the association for the next four years.

The new leadership of the Liberia Marketing Association (LMA) was elected earlier this year when over 500 delegates of the Liberia Marketing Association (LMA) converge in Gbarnga, Bong County for the LMA convention.
