The Ivorian government has banned use of all firecrackers and fireworks, which the state believed, could be dangerous for those who handle them or for those around them during the end of this year celebrations.
Firecrackers and fireworks banned until January 31, 2021 according ministerial decree recently issued in Abidjan by the Minister of Interior and Security prohibiting the use of firecrackers and fireworks.
According to a decree signed by the information Minister of Interior and Security, Diomandé Vagondo further maintained that the use of firecrackers and fireworks and other explosive substances are prohibited from December 2021 to January 31, 2022, indicated the decree specifies that any offender is will be liable to sanctions.
He noted that the pyrotechnic substances can often contain explosives and they can cause injuries and burns, even fire.
Municipal or prefectural decrees may also prohibit the sale of these fireworks to unaccompanied minors or limit their sale.
Millions of the citizens across the world will be celebrating Christmas on December 25, 2021 and new year on January 1, 2022 respectively. Fireworks and firecrackers usually mark the celebrations of festive season around the world to express their happiness.
