A life of legacy: Mother Betty Soe finally laid to Rest

The death of Mother Mrs. Betty Zonwulu SOE, has been seen as a ‘hard nut’ for many to swallow following her good life of legacy she lived during her earthly sojourn before departing this sinful World.

Mother Zonwulu SOE will hugely be remembered for caring love for not only her children or grandchildren but for everyone who knew her or may have come in contact with the deceased for the endless and inseparable love and care for all.

The late Grannie to many sympathizers lived an impactful life to many, especially the ethnic “Krahn People” or people mostly for the Southeastern part of Liberia.

 Mrs. Betty Zonwulu Soe life on Earth speaks volume as lived beyond the biblical score mark of three scored plus ten years above the normal biblical human should live on earth, if faithfully speaking that is according to many biblical quotes from the Holy Bible.

Delivering the Funeral Discourse over the mortal remains of the late Mother Mrs. Betty Zonwulu, Pastor Jones Poeson of the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church of Red-light, Paynesville, offered words of consolation to the bereaved family and urged them to take the death in good stride as Christian, because Ma Beth lived a life of good legacy and is lying in peace in heaven and they too should follow her good life, example on Earth.

Speaking on the theme: Live a Life of Legacy, with texts taking from 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, Pastor Jones told congregation, in attendance at the First Assembly of God Church on Buchanan & Carey Street, Central Monrovia, that Ma Beth was departing the shores of Earth in Peace to join her ancestors and by extension according to the belief of Christendom, has gone to be with the Lord.

Pastor Jones Poeson spoke profoundly on the need for the living to live a Christ-like life which, he said, entails caring for and sharing with the people. “Life is not just living it; it is also about what you do for others,” he said as a way accentuating the philanthropic nature of the deceased.

Meanwhile, Members of the Family, Friends and Sympathizer, who had went to the Buchanan AG, Church to pay tributes, and to say goodbye to the late Mrs. Betty Z. Soe, lipped praises on the Lord for the journey that the fallen Mother ‘Ma Beth’ spent on Earth.

The fervor of sorrow was powerfully felt in every corner of the church edifice, as others outside bowed and consistently they wept their cheeks after a rolling tears.

In his acknowledgment on behalf of the family, a son  of the deceased, Alphonso Zean Soe, Chief Executive officer of Liberia Public Radio, extended thanks and appreciation to all those who identified with them during their hours of sorrow and bereavement and vowed to sow a seed of faith at the First Assembly of God Church, for standing by his mother and hosting her body in the Church.

Nearly all staffers of Liberia Public Radio branches, in the United States of America (USA), Ivory Coast and Liberia were in full swing at the Church to pay their last respect to their founder mother Mrs. Betty Zonwulu Soe, those spotted are Nathaniel Krayee- LPR Station- Manager- USA, Benjamin Tegbeh- Director of Television (USA) Mark Dahn – Country- Manager- Liberia, Emmanuel wise Jipoh- Senior Reporter- Liberia, Moses Makpeh Tokpah- reporter -Liberia, Belthan E.k. Tano- Bong County- Correspondent, Joseph Sayon- Editor- Liberia, and Diana Kollie – Business Manager- Liberia.

In a brief tribute on behalf of Liberia Public Radio, Mr. Samson Brown Toe, LPR Board member described the late madam Betty Soe as a true mother who could not discriminate among children. He also retrospect on many calm words offer by mother Soe whenever she sees someone around her.

Born on March 15, 1935, Mother Betty Soe, left behind three Surviving Children, Madam Theresa Glaynnorh Soe, Tommy Tayor Soe, and Alphonso Zean Soe, 19 grandchildren, and several others great-grandchildren.

The Late Betty Zonwulu Soe was married to the late Paramount Chief Johnny Zean Soe of B’hai Chiefdom, Grand Gedeh County, She also has eight siblings of which four are deceased, two brothers (decease) and two Sisters (deceased).

The mortal remains of Mrs. Betty Zonwulu Soe famously known as Ma Beth, has finally been laid to rest at the Duazon Cemetery in Margibi County, following her demised on October 10, 2021, after a protractive period of illness she has suffered over the years.

Additionally, according information the last part of the burial rites will take at the deceased home- Zuajah Town, Gbarzon District, Grand Gedeh County.
