A 25-year-old man suspected of cutting-off the tongue of a 17-year-old boy in Outland Community, Police Academy has admitted committing the act, but said it was done in self-defense.
Darius P. Siryon reportedly slice the tongue of little Henry Giddings on Friday, February 4, 2022 at about 1:00 AM.
Siryon was arrested after Giddings mother Angeline Peabody, 37, of the same community reported seeing her son, lying unconscious in a pool of blood by 2:00 AM after the Community Chairman and a neighbor only identified as Roosevelt alarmed over the situation.
Victims Giddings who can no longer talk but eating through a tube at the John F. Kennedy Hospital reportedly informed his family through a written communication that he was drugged by three men, but was only able to identify Darius P. Siryon.
According to the Police who are investigating Mr. Siryon for alleged Aggravated Assault, they were informed by suspect Siryon that he was attack by three unknown people on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 1:00AM, while on his way from a wake keeping.
Siryon furthered that the attackers including little Henry Giddings succeeded in taking away his TECHNO Pop 5 phone valued at US$120 and his wallet that contained his Liberian citizen ID CARD plus Four Hundred Twenty Liberian dollars (LRD 420.00).
Siryon who was last month expelled from the knight of St. John of the St. Kizito Catholic Church narrated that two of the attackers escaped, while they left him and victim Henry Giddings in a fist fight.
According to Siryon the 17-year –old attempted to bite him, but his tongue mistakenly entered his mouth and he (suspect Siryon) bit it off.
The latest assault of a minor has again sent shocks across the country with many following the story on social media finding it extremely difficult to belief Siryon’s explanation.
While many of them following the story agree with the fact that there are lots of bad kids in the street these days, but Siryon explanation is nothing more than a make-up only intended to find an escape route.
