The German cooperation BZM, has launched a new sustainable waste management project to be implemented Community Based (CBE) Enterprises in Grand Gedeh and River Gee Counties.
Speaking on the project review Julius Gamey coordinator of project; New outlook (PNO) Said the project is expected to keep the city of Zwedru clean and healthy for the wellbeing of the citizens.
He added that the project which is being funded by BZM through Welt Hunger Hilfe (WHH) particularly focuses on building technical capabilities of waste management units of the cities.
Zwedru, Grand Gedeh and Fish Town River Gee are two beneficiaries of the project.
For their part madam Thelma K. Kanswen Executive Director of the Seibo Safety Environmental Service appreciated WHH and PNO for selecting Multi Agrisystem Promoters (MAP), United Family for Reconstruction (UFAR) , Society for Poverty Reduction (SOPOR), and Seibo Safety Environmental Service (SSES) to implement the project.
Also speaking at the launch, madam Quaye coordinator of the project used the medium to call on the German Cooperation to provide more support in the form of machines, waste management box including cutlasses at various sites for the smooth implementation of the project activities.
She also used the medium to call on other partners to join German cooperation in supporting the growth and development of the Project New Outlook (PNO) in order to improve sanitation and livelihood of citizens residing in Zwedru city and surrounding areas.
The project review meeting brought together governmental and non governmental institutions including ministry of internal affairs (MIA) ministry of Justice (MOJ) Liberia national police (LNP) environmental protection agency (EPA) ministry of health (MOH) World health organization (WHH) Civil Society Organization (CSO) the Zwedru City
Cooperation (ZCC) Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) Liberia Business Association (LIBA) among others.
