MCSS superintendent makes breakthrough; introduces tuition free for students

Students of the Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS)  have been granted free tuition for this 2022/2023 academic year. 

This is the first time ever in the history of the MCSS to provide free education for its students.     

MCSS superintendent Prof. Isaac Saye-Larkpo Zarwolo said the initiative is primarily one of his major dreams after his appointment to the  MCSS. 

Prof. Zarwolo who took over the MCSS on December 17, 2022 with the vision of promoting five cardinal issues with emphasis on employees welfare and the introduction of free education for MCSS Students.

Mr. Zarwolo said he came to the job to initiate and execute a strategic direction to include employee welfare, save secure , schools cooperative partnership, organization efficiency and academy excellent.

The MCSS boss noted that as part of his strategic he renovated several MCSS schools and obstructed additional building to ease the overcrowdedness of the D12 High school. 

“With the support of government and other partners the MCSS schools will be free of charge. We will work and engaged different partners to support us, presently I am in invited to go to University of Bosduwana  for partnership and I will make sure that we increase women employment form Elementary to Junior high”, Mr. Zarwolo said.

Prof. Zawolo told Liberia Public Radio that Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Finance has made available One Million United States Dollars to the Monrovia Consolidated School System to run the free school. 

“The issue of salaries and other benefits of Teachers and Staff of MCSS will be addressed. Infact I will make sure that all employee of MCSS will be paid on time”, he stressed.

“We have made  arrangements  with some banking institution and signed an agreement to give Five Thousands United States Dollars Loans to our employees and also making additional arrangements with other banking institution to also gives loans to our teachers and staffers said Superintendent Mr. Zarwolo”.

Meanwhile the Monrovia Consolidated School System have changed the design of its uniform from calor to via shirt for the elementary division and all uniforms are to be sold by the system for affordable price. 

The Elementary uniforms from (ABC  to grade three) will be sold for($10US), Grade  four to eleven sold at ($13USD) and Twelve grade uniforms will be sold for ($ 14 USD). Superintendent of the system told a news conference Friday that  parents are not compel to buy from the school but urged that any uniform bought outside must meet the same standards and quality.
